Standards we hold builders to

For any pergola, verandah, patio or carport work over $20,000 inc GST (the SA threshold increased from $12,000 on 10 November 2025), builders must:

• Provide a written contract before deposit or work commences
• Hold and provide a Builders Indemnity Insurance (BII) certificate (SA legal requirement under the Building Work Contractors Act 1995)
• Itemise scope so you can compare quotes apples to apples
• Specify engineering standards (AS 1170.2 wind region A2, AS 4055, AS 3959 if BAL-affected)
• Name product brands (Colorbond grade, panel system, timber species) on the quote
• Include warranty paperwork in the handover
• Lodge council approval (Building Rules consent or full Development Approval) where required

Builders in our network pay a small per-introduction fee. You pay nothing for the matching service. The builder you choose quotes you at the price they would charge any other Adelaide customer - we don't mark up rates and we don't take a percentage of the job value.
